Jevon D. Hunter is the Woods Beals Endowed Chair for Urban Education in the School of Education and an Associate Professor in the Elementary Education and Reading Department at The State University New York, Buffalo State where his teaching and research interests examine the ways literacy impacts urban learning environments that dis/mis/empower youth, their teachers, and families. Currently, he is focused on helping to increase the literacy opportunities, participation, engagement, outcomes, aspirations of youth in Buffalo and surrounding cities.
